The Honors Performance Series assembles international groups of rising young musicians to perform under the baton of master conductors, in some of the most prestigious concert venues worldwide.

Middle School Performance
Performing with an Honors Performance Series ensemble is an achievement that can distinguish Finalists when applying to colleges or music fellowships. Finalists are eligible to earn college credit through George Mason University by participating in the Series.
Instrumental and choir musicians must submit a complete application packet in order to be eligible for the Honors Performance Series, including:
- An audition recording
- A brief performer biography
- Contact information of one educator reference
Applications are reviewed by an expert board of music professionals for final selection. Selected musicians are assigned to ensembles based on instrument/vocal part requirements.
For Musicians
There’s nothing quite like the thrill of watching your musician perform in some of the world’s most famous theaters, concert halls, and auditoriums. In addition to attending the final performance, family members and friends of selected Finalists are welcome to join the adventure by opting into our Family Program.
By attending the Family Program, you’ll attend select program events that are otherwise closed to non-performers, enjoy sightseeing excursions and special activities while your musician is in closed-door rehearsals, and reserve a Priority ticket to the Honors Performance show.
For Parents
We rely on the nominations and references of music educators to maintain the quality of the Honors Performance Series. School teachers, university professors, and private instructors are all eligible to nominate musicians for the Honors Performance Series.

As a guideline, international applicants will complete/will have completed their school leaving examinations in 2025-2031 and will be approximately 11 to 19 years old when accepted into the Series.
